James Horsley

/biography

/bio

Born in Kununurra, relocated to the South West at 16.

James developed a keen interest in metal work at 15, when he created his first bird sculpture (pictured in 'Animals' album on this website). This raised the eyebrows of his metal work teacher, where he predicted there would be more impressive designs to come from James. This bird still resides in his parent's home today.

Now, James works as a Boilermaker by trade, however spends additional time creating unique works of art for displays at wineries, schools, galleries, and to purchase for your own home.

He won 'Viewers Choice' at the Vasse Art Show awards in both 2011 and 2012, and was two points short of winning this title for the third year in 2013.

In 2015, James won both the Shire of Busselton's 'Aquisition Award' and Bendigo Bank's Viewer's Choice awards, for his 'Whine and Dine' piece at the Sculpture by the Bay exhibition. This is now a permanent feature on the Dunsborough foreshore. In 2016, James' piece "The Blow Ins" won Viewer's Choice yet again - and sold instantly.
